A few months ago, I was approached by Wellness to test out their new line of Wellness® Complete Health™ dog food. We decided to give it a try and see how Wellness stacked up against the food our 4 dogs have been on for the last two years and put one of our pups, Elwood, on it for a full three months.
Well, here’s the three-month update! Not only have we been completely surprised at the difference in Elwood physically, we’ve been pleasantly surprised to discover an Elwood that is more playful and active than we’ve ever seen before.
He’s gone from being a rolly-poley type of dog to actually showing a ton of muscle definition and his coat has really become beautiful & shiny. Elwood is initiating play with the other 3 way more and even keeping up with our 65lb bloxer, Floyd. We attribute these benefits to the high-quality proteins and vitamins in the Wellness Complete Health formula since there’s been a noticeable difference.
Wellness has also impressed us by being a company that gives back to the community in big ways. They’ve done massive amounts of good for years through their WellPet Foundation. Established in 2007, the WellPet Foundation’s purpose is to support groups whose goals are similar to that of Wellness: helping pets to live healthier, happier, and longer lives. For example, during the recent flooding in Louisiana, the Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge (CAABR) took in approximately 650 displaced dogs & cats. Talk about doing good! In order to support them, Wellness donated 50,000 pounds of pet food to CAABR and other neighboring shelters.
WellPet’s mission is based on three things:
Responsibility – Passion – Commitment
These are the themes that have guided the work the WellPet Foundation does for the pets that provide us with so much unconditional love, trust & companionship. They are committed to giving back to the world we share with our pets by supporting organizations & activities that promote the power of natural nutrition and the benefits of healthy, active lifestyles.
We’re actually in the process right now of transitioning our other 3 dogs over to Wellness Complete Health because we’ve gotten such stellar results AND we love supporting companies who are giving back in meaningful ways.
